You're only lonely if you're not there for you. -- Dr. Phil

Loneliness takes over and takes control
It eats at our hearts, it empties our soul
Surrounded by family and well-meaning friends
The loneliness persists, there is no end
Only when we give up and finally give in
and listen to the inner voice whispering within
We realize no one else can do what needs done
Learn that loneliness and alone are not as one
Accept that alone can be your friend
and you'll never be lonely ever again.

We have to find that contentment within ourselves and not rely on others to provide it.
Hey, sometimes when I feel alone, I pretend that I'm a visitor in the house and start having a conversation with myself! Or, when I am home alone (which is practically every day because I work from home), whenever I walk into a room with a mirror or pass by a reflection of myself, I look at the image and say hello and smile. Another thing I often do is right after I get up in the morning and have my "wake up" coffee...I ask myself, "So, Donna, what do you feel like doing today?" If my answer is "I think I'll take a long bath", or "I want to go to the post office and mail this letter out", or "I'm gonna make a stew for dinner tonight", or "I want to write a blog about my new dress" or WHATEVER it is, I write it on my "to do" list for the day, find where it will fit in, and I do it! While I'm doing "it", I'm enjoying my company!
Glad to hear other people talk to themselves! Sometimes it's the most pleasant conversation of the day!
