In God We Trust

January 22, 2008 / by queenie

Woke up this morning dreading another day.  Seems like each day brings on at least one obstacle - and I've had enough of those to last me awhile!  Today's obstacle is a major one that I've been dreading.  It can't be ignored.  Just has to be dealt with.  Definetely one of those days when you feel like you're alone in this big ol' world.

Just when I think I can't go anymore, God gives me a sign that he is with me and guiding me.  When I got my daughter out of bed this morning, I found a quarter under the covers - heads up -with the words "In God We Trust" staring at me.  Talk about an instant turn-around.  I immediately appreciated the morning God had given me and knew He would be with me throughout the day - I just needed to put my trust in Him.

Then, as if one sign isn't enough (sometimes God has to hit me over the head with a baseball bat for me to "get" what he's trying to show me, tell me), I received a phone call out of the blue from someone I respect a great deal - an acquaintance of sorts; the kind of person you think you can never be equal to.  He wanted to congratulate me on a project I'm working on.  He had nothing but kind things to say - pretty much out of character for him.   Needless to say, I heard God loud and clear on this one!

Just have faith.  When you think you are walking alone, when you see only one set of footsteps in the sand, realize that those are God's - and he is carrying you through the tough times.

God puts people in our lives for a reason.  God puts obstacles in our lives for a reason.  Everything that happens, happens for a reason.  We may not like it, we may not understand it, we just need to know there is a plan for each of us.  Everything always works out in due time - we just have to be patient, which is a challenge for some of us!
