"Love enables you to put your deepest feelings and fears in the palm of your partner's hand, knowing they will be handled with care." Carl S. Avery
Well, it's pretty much an accepted fact around here that I will never grasp the whole love thing. Either I'm too unrealistic or it just really doesn't exist.
This quote expresses so well what my heart feels. However, for the love thing to work, it has to be two sided. I feel as if I'm headed the wrong way up a one-way street.
I'm not ready to throw in the towel on believing. I have to hang on to hope. The "L" word is bandied about everywhere: songs, poetry, websites. Surely it has to exist? For centuries humans have written, lamented, bemoaned, and glorified this elusive dream.
Does it really exist?

I still believe it does...I guess I'm a romantic as well (heart)
Sure it exists, but many stumble along the way while seeking it and/or waiting for it to come. But, how would one even recognize it, let alone experience it, if one is not open, ready, and suitable for it? You have to be lovable, ready emotionally, and comfortable with your own self in order for love to enter...but even that won't result in the true love if you do not and can not return it in the same way and for the right reasons. Even bliss faces obstacles, but with the same level of give-and-take in a healthy relationship, the love and happiness endures, conquers, and the emotions remain secure. "They" say that not everybody finds this love, but it is there ... it may be that everybody that doesn't find it is because it was there but they missed it. So, you want to be ready... don't be too anxious, but don't give up hope or making yourself a better, stronger person.
