It's Monday morning, peace and quiet time with just me, my coffee, and the porch swng.
As I listened to the beautiful quiet of early morning, waiting for the sun to rise, I realized I have so much to be thankful for. The last two weeks were the hardest of my life, and I allowed the negative to overtake the positive.
So on this beautiful Texas Monday morning, these are the top ten things I am most grateful for:
1. My healthy, beautiful children ---- I may not approve of their actions, but only a mother can understand the depth of this love.
2. My parents --- even though they both have major health issues, brought on by their alcohol and prescription drug use, I am so blessed to still have them both in my life.
3. My health --- massive anti-depressents aside, I"m incredibly healthy and vow to quit smoking before February is over.
4. My friends --- the past two years have proved who my friends really are. They've loved me when I was unloveable, and listened to me whine so much, I"m sure they would have preferred bamboo shoots shoved under ther nails.
5. My grandmother -- she has been gone over a year now, but Alzheimers took her long before that. I wish every child could have a MawMaw like mine.
6. My faith -- I believe in people, love, and hope. Some say I"m unrealistic, but I think in the end, those are the things that matter most.
7. Unconditional love and learning what it is and how to give it. Probably my greatest accomplishment thus far in my life.
8. Cold wintry days when I can stay inside.
9. Beatiful warm sunshine that brings joy to your soul.
10. God. He is a patient being! All this time I thought I was alone, but He's been beside me every step of the way - even carrying me when I didn't think I could go take one more step. I don't understand His plan, but I know He has one. In due time, everything all works out for the best.
